Why Have a Doula by Your Side?
Welcoming a baby is powerful—and you deserve steady, informed support through every step. That’s what a doula brings: calm presence, expert guidance, and hands-on care when you need it most.
Research and experience both tell us that having a doula can make a big difference. Families supported by doulas often experience:
Shorter, more manageable labors
Fewer medical interventions like cesareans, epidurals, or assisted deliveries
Less reliance on pain medication
A more positive, satisfying birth experience
Stronger starts to breastfeeding
Lower chances of postpartum depression
More confidence in navigating new parenthood
But beyond the stats, it’s about feeling safe, seen, and supported—so you can focus on bringing your baby into the world with as much calm and connection as possible.
Holds space for you to labor your way, with trust, encouragement, and steady support.
Each family’s story is unique, and the support you receive should reflect that. At Inland Empire Doulas, we know there’s no such thing as a one-size-fits-all approach. When you invite us to be part of your journey, here’s what that care might look like:
-
Motherboard Birth plans bring clarity and confidence to your birth journey. With our interactive Visual Birth Plan, you can research evidence‑based options, choose what matters most, and share your preferences with your care team—all in real time and across any device. It’s not your mom’s birth plan—it’s bright, concise, and made just for you. Because every parent deserves to feel informed, connected, and empowered.
-
Being a doula is all about creating a connection that feels natural, safe, and just right for you. I take the time to learn how you like to communicate—whether it’s chatting over voice memos, texting updates, or sitting down for a heart-to-heart. That way, our relationship grows in a way that feels easy and supportive, not one-size-fits-all. My goal is to meet you exactly where you are, so you feel held, heard, and completely yourself throughout this journey.

At Inland Empire Doulas, we believe that support is everything—especially during labor. It’s not just about being there, it’s about knowing how to bring comfort, calm, and connection when it matters most. That’s why we don’t just offer advanced comfort techniques during your birth, we also take it a step further by including a special class just for your partner, at no extra cost.
This class is all about empowering your partner with hands-on skills to support you with love and confidence during early labor. From massage techniques to breathing support and simple ways to create a soothing environment, we give your partner tools that help them be present in a meaningful way. We believe birth is something you do together, and when your partner feels prepared, it adds a beautiful layer of connection to your experience. It's our way of wrapping your whole family in care.

At Inland Empire, our heart is in supporting families through one of life’s most powerful transitions. Labor is deeply personal, and we’re here to honor your pace, your preferences, and your power. Whether you're planning a hospital birth, home birth, or something in between, we hold space with intention and presence. Our team brings calm reassurance, evidence-based guidance, and emotional steadiness that helps you feel rooted no matter how labor unfolds. We don’t just show up—we attune ourselves to you, so our support feels like a seamless extension of your needs.
Our labor support can look like hands-on comfort measures such as counterpressure, massage, and helping you move into positions that ease intensity and encourage progress. We’re also there to help interpret medical information, ask thoughtful questions, and remind you of your birth preferences in the moment. Sometimes we’re the gentle voice helping you breathe through a wave, and other times we’re the steady hands applying heat packs or holding a leg during pushing. We know when to step in and when to simply be present, so you always feel supported without being crowded.
-
Postpartum support is close to our hearts at Inland Empire Doulas. We know that the early days after birth can feel like a swirl of emotions, adjustments, and new beginnings—and we’re here to hold space for all of it. During our postpartum visits, Tanya gently walks with you through your birth story, giving you time to reflect, process, and share however you need. These visits are more than check-ins—they’re moments of care, comfort, and connection.
We like to see you about 48 hours after you arrive home, and again about a week later. At each visit, Tanya thoughtfully checks in on your emotional well-being, keeping an eye out for signs of baby blues or postpartum depression, while also simply listening and being present. We also offer hands-on support with infant feeding, helping you find comfortable positions and build confidence with breastfeeding or bottle-feeding. Whether it’s soothing worries, answering questions, or just holding the baby so you can shower—we’re here for it all, with warmth and care.
WHY FAMILIES CHOOSE BIRTH DOULA SUPPORT.
Having a birth doula by your side means more than just having extra support. It brings a sense of calm, clarity, and the deep comfort of knowing you’re not doing this alone. Studies have shown that people who have doulas at their birth often have fewer interventions and are less likely to need a cesarean. But honestly, what sticks with most families isn’t the numbers—it’s how they felt.
It’s the steady, non-judgmental presence of someone who’s just there for you. Someone who can gently guide you, cheer you on, and help you stay grounded when things feel intense. That kind of support can make all the difference in helping you feel strong, cared for, and truly supported in such a powerful time..
Why Families Choose Inland Empire Doulas for Birth Support:
I’m not feeling truly seen or listened to by my OB, and it’s starting to wear on me.
I’m planning to birth without medication and want someone who really gets that choice.
I’m hoping for a VBAC this time and want the extra support from someone who’s walked that road with others.
My partner is in the military and may not make it in time, so I need a steady presence I can count on.
I’m stepping into this as a solo parent and could really use someone in my corner when labor begins.
Gentle and meaningful
Imagine walking into your birth feeling steady and sure, surrounded by care that’s calm, real, and centered on you. Those first moments with your baby don’t need to be rushed or overwhelming—they can unfold with ease, in a space where you feel safe, supported, and deeply cared for. Birth holds the potential to be something truly meaningful, something that draws you closer to your partner and leaves you with memories that stay with you for a lifetime. That’s why we’re here. With a steady hand and an open heart, our doulas offer real support and a gentle presence so you can move through birth feeling held, confident, and truly seen.
