Postpartum Doula & Newborn Care Services
Bringing a new baby home is one of life’s most beautiful and most transformative experiences. At SoCal Doulas (formerly Inland Empire Doulas), we know that those first weeks and months can be filled with joy, discovery, and sometimes a little overwhelm.
Our Postpartum Doulas and Newborn Care Specialists provide steady, heart-centered support to help you settle into your new rhythm with confidence and ease. From hands-on newborn care and gentle education to emotional reassurance and rest support, we’re here to nurture your whole family as you find your footing together.
With SoCalDoulas by your side, you can focus on what matters most—healing, bonding, and embracing this sacred season of new beginnings.
If you know us, you know how much we value rest. At SoCal Doulas, we believe that sleep is essential to true postpartum recovery—not just for your body, but for your mind and spirit as well.
When parents are given the space to rest and recover, they gain the strength, clarity, and calm needed to nurture their baby with confidence and joy. Rest fuels connection—it allows you to be present for those early bonding moments, to care for your baby wholeheartedly, and to maintain balance and closeness within your family.
We’re here to help you find that rest, so your postpartum experience can be one of peace, renewal, and deep connection.
Daytime Postpartum Care
The weeks and months after bringing home your baby are a time of incredible growth, change, and adjustment. Our daytime postpartum doulas provide compassionate, hands-on support to help your family navigate this transition with confidence and calm.
Focusing on daytime hours (typically 9 a.m.–6 p.m.), your SoCal Doulas professional offers personalized postpartum care designed around your family’s unique needs. From practical newborn care—feeding, diapering, soothing, and establishing daily routines—to emotional support and gentle guidance, we’re here to nurture you as you recover and settle into parenthood.
Our doulas also assist with light household tasks to help create a peaceful, organized space that supports rest and healing. Whether it’s ensuring you get a nourishing meal, tidying the nursery, or helping you find moments to rest, our goal is to make your days smoother and your recovery stronger.
With SoCal Doulas, you’re never alone in the postpartum journey. We help you build confidence, care for your baby, and find balance as you embrace life as a new family.

A daytime postpartum doula provides hands-on support for families after birth. This can include newborn care, feeding support, light household help, meal prep, and emotional guidance. The goal is to make your recovery smoother and help you feel confident as you adjust to life with your baby.
-

A postpartum doula’s focus is on caring for the whole family—not just the baby. Doulas nurture the parents too, offering education, emotional support, and encouragement as you heal, learn, and bond as a new family.
-

We recommend booking your postpartum support during pregnancy, ideally by your second or early third trimester. This ensures availability and allows us to plan a care schedule that aligns with your family’s needs and goals.
-

Every family is different! Some families welcome support for a few weeks, while others continue for several months as they adjust to their new routines. Our care is flexible and tailored to your family’s timeline.

-

Yes! While daytime doulas focus on creating healthy sleep habits and helping you rest when possible, we also offer overnight postpartum doula and newborn care specialist support for families who need more rest overnight.

F &Q About About Overnight and Newborn Care
-

Your overnight doula or newborn care specialist provides professional, nurturing support while you rest. They handle nighttime feedings, diaper changes, and soothing so you can get restorative sleep. Their goal is to help you recover physically and emotionally while ensuring your baby is cared for with expertise and love.

Overnight care typically lasts 8, 10, or 12 hours, depending on your family’s needs. Your doula or specialist will arrive in the evening and remain through the night, allowing you uninterrupted rest.
-

That depends on your setup and comfort level. Some families have the doula care for the baby in a nearby nursery or living space, while others prefer room-sharing. We adapt to your preferences to ensure everyone feels comfortable and rested.
-

Absolutely. If you’re breastfeeding, your doula can bring your baby to you for feeds, assist with latching, and handle burping, diapering, and soothing afterward so you can return to sleep quickly. For families using bottles or expressed milk, your doula can manage feedings independently while you rest.
-

Both provide expert newborn and family support. A Postpartum Doula focuses on the whole family’s well-being emotional recovery, education, and practical help while a Newborn Care Specialist concentrates more specifically on newborn sleep, feeding, and routines. At SoCal Doulas, both roles overlap beautifully to offer comprehensive, heart-centered care.
-
